Was Thodupuzha family buried alive?

Aide of murdered Thodupuzha sorcerer held
K V Krishnan, his wife Suseela, daughter Arsha and son Arjun - were found murdered at their house in Thodupuzha in Idukki.

Thodupuzha: A suspect taken into custody on Sunday over the killing of a family at Kambakanam was a trusted aide of murdered sorcerer Krishnan, police sources said.

The Thodupuzha native, who used to act as a middleman and bring people for black magic to Krishnan, had absconded after the murder came to light on Wednesday.

It is understood that this aide had dragged Krishnan out of his house and hit him on the head. Krishnan's son Arjun and daughter Arsha tried to resist him. They were also found murdered and buried with their father and mother Suseela in a pit in their property. The police suspect that some of the victims were buried alive.

Another suspect who was nabbed on Sunday is from Adimali and is a tribal who repairs motorbikes. Of the five people taken into custody in the case so far, a native of Nedumkanadam in Idukki and one of the three men from Thiruvananthapuram have been let off after interrogation.

The main accused landed in police net after the police used the Spectra system to scrutinise phone calls. Spectra helps to track calls made through different service providers under the same mobile tower.

It has also been gathered that Krishnan had links with idol smuggling gangs.

The police said more than one person was involved in the murder of K V Krishnan, 54, his wife Suseela, 50, daughter Arsha, 21 and son Arjun, 17.

All four members of a family were found piled on top of another in a dung pit on Wednesday next to their home in Thodupuzha in the hilly Idukki district. Around 30 sovereigns of gold have been reported missing from the home.
