Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSTRC) has resumed services swiftly across the state though nine of its units were totally affected by floods and 15 were hit partially.

Several KSRTC stations across the state were under water in the flood.

Though there are still hindrances on several routes, reports suggest that public transport is returning to normal across the state, barring a few pockets.

Pathanamthitta

Services have resumed to all destinations from Pathanamthitta.

Partial restoration has been possible on Aranmula-Chengannur and Pathanamthitta-Ranni routes though silt remains in some areas.

Thiruvalla-Edathua-Thakazhi-Ambalapuzha route is clear. Water still remains at Nalkalikkal on the Aranmula-Kidangannur-Panthalam route.

KSRTC buses are back on Ambalapuzha-Thiruvalla road since Tuesday evening.

Alappuzha

Traffic has not been restored on the Alappuzha-Changanassery road though flooding has eased.

Traffic has also not been restored on Mavelikkara-Chengannur (via Kollakadavu), Mannar- Chengannur (via Pandanad) and Veeyapuram-Edathua routes as the roads here and in Kuttanad region which remain submerged.

KSRTC buses are plying on the Ambalapuzha-Thiruvalla route since Tuesday evening.

As Thakazhi and Nedumpram areas are still waterlogged small vehicles cannot pass. Edathua-Mankotta-Veeyapuram-Haripad road is yet to reopen. Water remains on Edathua-Mampuzhakari-Edathua-Champakulam, Edathua-Alamthuruthi, Neerettupuram-Muttar, and Ramankari-Thayankeri roads.

Kottayam

Only large vehicles can pass the Vaikom area. KSRTC is operating only up to Peerumedu on the KK Road.

Kollam

Traffic remains restricted at MSL point near Thenmala on the Kollam-Thirumangalam national highway as the road has been damaged.

Ernakulam

Traffic obstructions have been removed completely in the district. The waterlogging and traffic obstruction between Paliyakkara and Aluva on the national highway are over.

Idukki

Mudslide has occurred between Iruttukanam and Pallivasal on the Kochi-Dhanushkodi national highway as well as Cheruthoni and Keerithode on the Idukki-Neriamangalam road.

The Cheruthoni bridge on Thodupuzha-Puliyanmala national highway has been weakened after floods. The Periyavare bridge on Munnar-Marayur route is also in danger.

Traffic has been restored on these routes: Adimali-Kothamangalam, Kumali-Kottayam, Kumali-Kattapana, Kattapana-Kottayam, Kattapana-Ernakulam, Kattapana-Kuttikanam-Mundakkayam-Ponkunnam-Kottayam-Ernakulam, Kattapana-Upputhara-Valacode-Pullikanam-Thodupuzha, and Kattapana-Thookkupalam-Nedumkandam.

Thrissur

Traffic has been hindered on Moonnupeedika-Irinjalakuda-Potta state highway as also Cherpu-Thriprayar road. Large vehicles, including buses and tipper lorries, are now allowed to pass Thrissur-Kanjani-Vadanapally state highway. Paliyekkara-Aluva route on the national highway is clear.

Malappuram

Traffic is back to normal on all roads in the district, including Nadukani mountain pass, and state-national highways.

Wayanad

The Kottiyur road, via Palchuram, Mananthavadi, is closed. Mudslide had occurred near Thonichal on the Mananthavadi-Kozhikode road.

Palakkad

Traffic is yet to resume on the Nenmara-Nelliyampathi main road. At Kuthiran, traffic has been lagging for hours on the national highway where a mudslide had occurred.
