Alathur: Kerala rose above all expectations dealing with the August floods. When all and sundry joined in pooling their abilities, a young man with different abilities also pitched in, and in a very different way.

Artist Pranav Balasubrahmanyan, an artist who holds the magic brush between his toes has handed over the proceedings from his work to the chief minister’s distress relief fund. Pranav was born without hands and has already carved a niche for himself in the world of art.

At a function held at Palakkad, Pranav handed over the money to minister A K Balan.

The exuberant young man signed a cheque of Rs 5,000 holding a pen between the toes even as curious onlookers watched with an approving smile.

The third-year B Com student had displayed his work at a business entrepreneurship event held at the Government College at Chittoor, 25 km east of here, in February.

“I hope my small aid helps Kerala’s efforts to overcome the crisis,” said Pranav, who was accompanied by his father at the event held on Wednesday evening. Minister Balan, speaking at the event lauded Pranav's contribution.
