From Kochi to the Himalayas, a duo vroomed on bullet for Kerala
David Mammen and Vishnudas undertook a bullet ride from Kochi to the Himalayalas to put a brake on all the fake campaigns doing the rounds against flood-ravaged Kerala.

Kochi: A cross-country ride on a bullet motorbike was a dream that Vishnudas and David Mammen had cherished since their college days. And finally they made it a reality.

The two set off on their bullets from Kochi to the Himalayas with a purpose -- to put a brake on all the fake campaigns doing the rounds against flood-ravaged Kerala. In 32 days, they vroomed across 12 states covering 9,000 km to garner as much support as possible towards the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund to help the flood victims.

On October 7, Tripunithura native Vishnudas, who is an assistant manager with Harrisons Malayalam, and Konni native David, an executive of the same firm, returned to Kochi, doing their bit for Kerala.

The only other long trip the duo had undertaken on a bullet was to Wayanad. So initially they were a bit sceptical about a bullet ride to the Himalayas, but for the active support of their colleagues.

It was indeed a 'royal' start as the bullets displaying 'Stand for Kerala' boards with details of account details of CM's distress relief fund kick started from the gates of Harrisons Malayalam at Willingdon Island.

With a bare minimum luggage of essential clothing, the bullets wheeled towards the Leh glaciers on September 28. The duo spent there three days and returned to Delhi. After sending the bullets to Kerala via train, Vishnudas and David flew down to Kochi on October 7.

“During the halts we explained to the people of those regions the trauma of the flood victims, and the need to stand together to rebuild the state," said Vishnu and David. Around 60 people from outside the state chipped in for the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund, turning their bullet expedition into a success story.
