Hanan suffers head injury, second accident in 5 months
Preliminary reports said that Hanan's injuries were not of serious nature.

Varappuzha: Kochi girl Hanan, who rose to fame after a photo of her selling fish to raise money for her studies went viral, was injured in an accident on Tuesday. She was injured as her head hit a car's door while she was returning after purchasing fish from Varapuzha market. The 21-year-old, who runs a fish outlet, normally purchases fish from Varapuzha and sells it at Kaloor market.

The driver of the car immediately took a bleeding Hanan to a nearby medical centre. She was then taken to a hospital at Edappally. Preliminary reports said that her injuries were not of serious nature.

This is her second accident in five months. She had to wear a belt after her spine was injured when her car hit an electric pole in Kothaparambu near Kodungallur in September, 2018. She was returning after a stage show. A miscreant had even taken a photo of Hanan recuperating in the ICU.

A B.Sc student at a private college at Thodupuzha in Idukki district, Hanan's story had gone viral after media reported her struggles. However, a section of social media users expressed doubts about her struggles and claimed it was 'fake.'

Hanan had earlier suffered an accident in September, 2018.

The Kerala government soon came out in support of the college student and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan directed police to initiate action against those who launched the abusive propaganda on social media platforms.

After recovering from her accident, Hanan had started an e-business platform, Hanan's Viral Fish, that offers door delivery of packaged, ready-to-cook fish. Her business venture was inaugurated by acclaimed actor Salim Kumar in December.
