Thettamala Govt School launches ‘Kunjuduppu’ project

Mananthavady: The babies born of Adivasi mothers at the district hospital here in Wayanad district would be first wearing the cute little dresses provided by the students of Thettamala Government High School as part of the 'Nalla padam' project.

The students came to know that the newly-born babies didn't have dresses when they visited the hospital to distribute clothes in the aftermath of the floods last year. That paved the way to launch the ‘Kunjuduppu’ project. The students also decided to collect clothes for the Adivasi new mothers.

The project kicked off with District Hospital Superintendent Dr V Jithesh receiving the clothes from the students the other day. Head mistress Merline Paul, Jorly Joy, Cleena Jinesh, ‘Nalla Padam’ coordinates P P Beena and Jithesh Jose spoke on the occasion.

'Nalla Padam' project is an initiative of 'Malayala Manorama' to promote social and cultural activities among schools.
