Kochi: A 48-year-old man was found dead with gunshot wounds on the terrace of his employer's house at Pothanicad village in Kerala's Ernakulam district on Saturday.
The victim has been identified as Prasad. Police suspect a case of murder.
The victim's employer Sajeev has been taken into custody as the body was found on the terrace of his house. Sajeev is also Prasad's friend.
Prasad was an employee at Sajeev's poultry farm.
An air gun owned by Sajeev was found near Prasad's body.
Biju, a friend of Sajeev and Prasad, had alerted the police after finding the body.
In his statement to the police, Biju said both of them were having liquor on the terrace till 9.30pm on Friday. Prasad was then dropped at his home. He had told Biju that he would accompany him to Sajeev's plantation at Rajakkad in Idukki district on Saturday.
When Prasad did not turn up, he went looking for him at his house and later at Sajeev's house, where his body was found.
As per Biju's statements, the police have taken Sajeev into custody. Police are questioning Biju.
A forensic team also visited the spot. A police team led by DySP is also at the crime scene.
