Kochi: Shaji Thilakan, son of late south Indian actor Thilakan, passed away at a private hospital in Kochi on Wednesday. He was 55.
He was undergoing treatment for liver-related ailments.
An employee at Appollo Tyres in Kochi, Shaji acted in many television serials. His villain role in Aniyathi, a television series aired in Mazhavil Manorama, was well received.
He had acted in unreleased 1998 movie Sagara Charithram.
He is survived by brothers Shammi Thilakan and Shobi Thilakan.
Shaji was born from Thilakan's second marriage with Shantha. Thilakan had three other children from his first marriage with Leela Thilakan.
