Adoor: With the shops closed due to COVID-19 lockdown, stray dogs are left with no garbage to feed on. Taking note of their plight, Pathanamthitta native Jyothi then decided to do her bit.

A native of Poothamkara in Pathanamthitta district, S P Jyothi prepares food at home, takes it to the street on her scooter and feeds the hungry animals and birds. Jyothi is a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus conductor at the Adoor depot.

Jyothi prepares 4kg of rice and 4kg chicken in a day. She rides from Elamannur to Adoor on her scooter with a huge vessel of food. She stops and gives food whenever she comes across dogs by the roadside. She also gives them water.

With this becoming a daily routine, dogs have begun to wait for Jyothi's arrival post noon.

Jyothi had earlier helped out stray dogs during the floods in Alappuzha.
