Kerala undergoes bureaucratic reshuffle, Dr Vishwas Mehta appointed as new Chief Secretary

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala cabinet on Tuesday appointed senior IAS officer Dr Vishwas Mehta as the new Chief Secretary of Kerala. He was handling the post of Additional Chief Secretary (Home department). The 1986 batch IAS officer will replace incumbent Tom Jose. Dr Mehta's service is due to end next February.

Other changes/appointments:

•T K Jose, who is currently the Additional Chief Secretary to the Public Works Department, will replace Mehta as Home Secretary

•Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) R Sreelekha has been promoted and appointed as the Fire and Rescue Services DGP in the state

•Thiruvananthapuram District Collector Gopalakrishnan has been transferred to Malappuram

•Kerala Medical Services Corporation Limited Managing Director Navjyot Singh Khosa has been appointed as the Thiruvananthapuram District Collector

•M Anjana, current Alappuzha District Collector has been appointed as the Kottayam District Collector

•Revenue Secretary V Venu has been appointed as the Planning Board Secretary

•ADGP M R Ajith Kumar has been appointed as the Transport Commissioner.

•Dr A Jayathilak is the new Revenue Secretary

•Ishita Roy has been appointed as Agricultural Production Commissioner
