Manilal, 50, the owner of the Mayookham Home Stay, died in the tragic incident that occurred at about 9:30pm on Sunday.

Ashokan of Villimangalam, who retired from the Delhi Police, was taken into custody by Kizhakke Kallada police over the crime.

“There was a heated argument between the two over some issue. Manilal reportedly beat up Ashokan who was drunk at that time. Enraged by the assault, Ashokan took out a knife and stabbed the home stay owner,” police sources said.
