Four members of a family, including two teenaged children, were found dead dead at Chelamattam near Perumbavoor on Thursday.

Biju (46) of Parappurathukudi, his wife Ambili (39) and their daughter Adithya (15) and Arjun (13) were found hanging inside their house. The children were studying in class 10 and 8.

It is suspected to be a case of suicide due to financial crisis.

Biju used to run a local chit fund, Manorama News reported.

Biju had asked those whom he owed money to be at his home in the morning to collect their cash. He had promised all of them to repay their money by December 31, local residents said.

He, along with his family, took the extreme step as he could not keep his promise.

He fell into the financial crisis as his chit business crashed.

On three spots on the walls of the house, he had written a note saying his relatives should not be allowed to see their bodies. Postmortem will be held at the Kalamassery medical college hospital.
