Is your skin oily? Try these home remedies

Are you worried about oily skin and pimples? You do not have to spend a lot of money on beauty treatments. Make sure you try these simple home remedies this weekend. 

» Egg whites

Egg Whites for skin care.

The vitamin A present in egg whites effectively reduces blemishes. It tones and  tightens your skin.

How: Whip one egg white with the juice from half a lemon and mix it well. Apply the mixture on your face, leave it on for 15 minutes and wash well with a mild cleanser.

» Lemon juice

Lemon for skin care.

The citric acid in lemon juice works as an astringent. It also has antibiotic properties that lightens skin.

How: Mix one tablespoon of lemon juice with a little water. Apply the mixture on your face and leave it on for 10 minutes. Wash off with cold water

Note: Lemon juice can be a little harsh and dry on your skin. Remember to follow up with a good quality moisturizer afterwards.

» Cucumbers

Cucumbers act as a cooling and soothing agent. It is also high in vitamins and minerals including vitamins A and E, magnesium, and potassium which is good for the skin.

How: Apply cucumber juice on your face and leave overnight. Wash off with cold water. You can also add honey for better results. This remedy can also be used to lighten freckles and reduce sunburn.

» Apples

Apples have great exfoliating properties. They also have mild antiseptic, astringent, and soothing properties that make them a great home remedy for oily skin. The malic acid in apples helps exfoliate dead skin cells and absorbs excess oil from the skin’s surface.

How: Apply apple pulp on you face for 15 minutes. Wash off with cold water.

» Milk

Milk for skin care.

Milk is a great cleanser and makes skin soft and supple.

How: Mix a few drops of lavender oil with milk and apply on your face. Gently massage to facilitate oil circulation and leave overnight. Wash off in the morning with cold water.

» Honey

Honey for skin care.

The natural antibiotic properties of honey prevent the growth of bacteria and help reduce pimples and also blemishes.

How:Apply a teaspoon of honey to the affected areas, or make a mask by mixing 1/2 cup of honey with 1 cup of oatmeal. Leave it on for 30 minutes and wash off with cold water.
