Kochi: And the day is here! M4marry wedding week 2016 featuring top designers of the country is off to a flying start.

Collections of Bollywood's favorite designer Vikram Phadnis, who has been tasting success in fashion designing for 25 years, stole the limelight on the first day of wedding fair's eighth edition.

The mega world of fashion dawned at the Le Méridien in Kochi Friday as top models breathed life into Phadnis' collection.

The prominent colors of the show that Phadnis toyed with were subtle shades of beige and peach.

The ramp did not miss out on the bright red shade, a must in bridal collections, in his works. The final round of collections showcased brilliant hues of red embellished with mirror pieces.

Long skirts, saris draped in a variety of styles, flowing lehenga and what not. Phadnis showed the audience how he churns out the best fashion for the diva in a bride.

Earlier, Malayala Manorama editor Philip Mathew inaugurated m4marry's online wedding store. The fashion designer was honored by Mariam Mammen Mathew, chief operating officer, Manorama Online at the event.

While the hair and makeup for the show was done by Ambika Pillai's Kaytra, the jewels were sponsored by Sunny Diamonds.

The opening dance, choreographed by Sreejith and crew from Dancity Academy, Kochi, also added to the grandeur of the event.

The fashion world of Kerala witnessed opening of a new chapter when gorgeous damsels walked the ramp in elegant shades.

The coming days of the wedding fair are sure to give us more and we can't wait.
