First Communion frocks are the ones that are most sensational in the frock market during April and May. This divine costume seeks new meanings in terms of material and trend with the passage of time. Let us examine some trendy First Communion dresses.
1. A – Line frocks
These frocks have a single layer from top to bottom. The layers are present in the front and back. The question of many pieces does not arise. There are less flares on the dress. The tuck reaches up to the belly.
The A – line frock will not look appealing if it is stitched using a net or satin material. It is glorious in silk though. A belt of satin or silk ribbons will add to the charm. As full length frocks are trendy attires for evening parties this can be used later after the function too.
A – line frocks require less cloth compared to gowns of other patterns.
2. Ball gown frocks
Remember the gown worn by Cinderella in the illustrated story books? That is a ball gown. It looks fabulous even if you choose to the extend the length till the knees or feet.
It has a well-fitting yoke and waist alongwith a flares. Tier frocks bringing about flare in multiple decks as a variation of this are also pleasing to the eye.
3. Mermaid frocks
This frock is tight-fitting up to the knees and has a flared pattern beyond it. A belt or bow can make the dress more charming.
4. Empire line frocks
These are frocks with a waistline just below the yoke. The waistline is clearly demarcated by a satin ribbon or bead work. A bottom full of frills as well as it's child-like appearance are the main highlights of the Empire line dresses.
5. Sheath frocks
These are totally tight-fitting frocks. Its beauty lies in the thread-work of the decorative beads confining to one area.
Wearing the same frocks as two pieces is also ‘in’ nowadays. The yoke and bottom are different.
The main feature of Sheath frocks in that the top and skirt are made of different materials. These can be worn as two-piece just like self-printed tops, plain skirts, sleeveless open neck tops, skirt with large flares, etc. The latest trend, with regards to First Communion dresses are cut work, embroidered net and Croatia net. Dresses with cut work done in yoke will cost a minimum of Rs 4000. Cut work is usually done in silk.
First Communion dresses made of organza, satin, cotton silk and net materials are also available in the market. The flared organza and net better suit flared ball pattern dresses more.
Wearing overcoats of self embroidered material with sleeveless full frocks is also a good option.
