People In Fashion: This Kerala makeup artist smiles at all the humiliations he had to face | pix

Tony's journey from that humiliated, shy little boy to an acclaimed celebrity makeup artist is praiseworthy.

Tony had always been laughed at as a child for his love of cosmetics and beauty products. He was reminded that boys shouldn't line their eyes or spend time in front of a mirror, over and over again. Every fancy store he came to, little Tony was determined to make a pause at; but it was always a cosmetic shop to which he gave the preference.

His journey from that humiliated, shy little boy to an acclaimed celebrity makeup artist is praiseworthy. “I have always been discouraged whenever I opened up on my passion. I have been scolded, shouted at and pulled back. But I strongly believed in my path of discovering beauty from faces. I'm a proud stylist, for that matter,” laughs Tony.

Tony is a freelance celebrity stylist hailing from Kochi. Having secured a BA in English Literature, he took off his career, initially assisting famous stylist Avinash Chetia. Now working as a freelancer specializing in celebrity weddings and fashion photo shoots, Tony sets his signature in eye make-up.

“Smoky eye-do is my masterpiece. Eye makeup is one least explored domain in South Indian beauty realm. People seldom identify the importance of assertive eyes on an attractive face,” Tony says.

He operates in Hyderabad, Kochi, and Chennai. Dreaming high on setting up a brand on his own, Tony looks forward to introducing more dazzling trends related to eye-dos to the South Indian fashion industry.

“For me, beauty is life. Every untouched face is an untold story. I unleash it with my brushes,” Tony says.
