The elegance of minimalism could be perceived throughout the interiors of the house, which is designed in two stories.

The extremely stylish fusion house near Vallapuzha at Pattambi in the Palakkad district, Kerala, is drawing attention to its unique design of the exteriors. The owner Naseem shares his experiences of conceptualizing, designing and building this house that has now become the talk of the town. The family wanted to feature a fusion of interesting patterns in the exteriors and to have elegant interiors as well. A perfect blend of flat and sloped roof, with ceramic roofing tiles paved on it, is stylish and eye-catching. Smartly conceptualized multiple patterns is what makes this house, designed in 2450 sq ft, stand out.

The exteriors mostly don the white hue with cement and grey shades adding the perfect contrast. Instead of cement boards, exposure cement finish has been done while doing the plastering works. This helped save considerable amount of money as well. The landscape and the gate too have been arranged to stylishly suit the general theme of the house. Grass, mettle and santoor stones are used to make the landscape aesthetically appealing. The façade of this house is designed in the floating style. A courtyard too has been arranged on the opposite side.

Lighter shades of hues dominate the interior spaces that are arranged in the semi open style. There are formal and family living areas, dining space, kitchen with an adjacent work area and 4 bedrooms in this smartly designed house. The elegance of minimalism could be perceived throughout the interiors of the house, which is designed in two stories.

The courtyard plays a vital role in filling the interiors with incredible positive energy. This area is arranged in a way which allows excellent view of it from the formal living area, dining space and the master bedroom as well.

The family living area is designed as a mezzanine floor on the first landing of the stair way. The beauty of the courtyard, arranged beside the dining space, could be enjoyed from the family living area as well.

Each space has been meticulously designed, to amazingly suit the theme of the house. Vitrified tiles in grey colour and not white are used for flooring as it is easier to maintain. Meanwhile, the courtyard has been designed in wooden finish that adds to the striking look of it. Plywood and jute has been used on the custom-made couch that adorns the formal living area. Meanwhile, the classic combination of wood and glass could be seen in the dining area. The cupboards in the kitchen and the bedrooms are made of plywood with PU paint finish. The windows and doors in this house are made using teak that had stood on the plot itself.

There are 4 bedrooms arranged in both the floors. These bedrooms follow minimal theme and has all the required facilities. Besides, there is a balcony as well in the upper storey. The charm of GI pipes and glass makes the balcony look spectacular and contemporary. This is easily the liveliest spot in the house as the family members love gathering here.

Architect Anas has given equal importance to the landscape as well while designing the structure. Stunning views of the lush green landscape could be enjoyed from each and every corner in the house. The private spaces are cozy and comfortable with abundant supply of natural sunshine and fresh air. “The architect deserves credit for designing such a beautiful house by catering to our likes and preferences. People in the locality often observe our house with marvel and amazement. Many of them even ask for the plan of the house. We feel incredibly happy when we explain everything to them,” says Naseem with pride in his voice.
