Niche designs and modern amenities make this brand new house in Kozhikode, Kerala, shine. It was quite a daunting task to renovate the old house that stood in a small rectangular plot. The architects of this house deserve praise for coming up with a smart and well executed plan.
Though the house looks smaller from the front side, the designers have taken advantage of the length of the plot to comfortably design the interiors. A part of the old single storey house has been attached in the front to make the new house spacious. Besides, an additional floor too has been built.
The balcony that is projected from the façade is the highlight of the exteriors. The interiors truly impress with its space efficient areas and splendid designs. The house has a sit out, living and dining areas, kitchen, four bedrooms and balcony.
All the rooms are elegantly furnished in marine ply with veneer finish. The TV unit is installed on a wall in the living area. Meanwhile, the prayer area has been separated on the opposite side. The stairway is on the right side of the hall where the dining area and living area are arranged. Arranging the wash area and inverter unit beneath the stairway is a smart way of using the spaces efficiently.
The upper half of the wall that separates the stairway and the dining area has been designed as a designer shelf. The quaint dining table can easily accommodate up to six persons. Meanwhile, the partition between the dining area and kitchen acts as a crockery unit and serving counter.
The kitchen cabinets are done in marine plywood with PU paint finish. The kitchen accessories and fittings are in stainless steel which grants a classy feel to it.
The bedrooms are decorated with stylish gypsum false ceiling. Moreover, the rooms are bath attached. Interestingly, the balcony has been designed in a way which makes it easily accessible from the bedrooms.
The fabulous designs of this mesmerizing abode create the illusion that the interiors are incredibly spacious, without actually making it feel congested.
