Johny, an expatriate has built his brand new house in the serene countryside of Mulanthuruthy at Ernakulam, Kerala. The house stands on a sprawling 68 cents, surrounded by beautiful pineapple orchards and away from the buzz of the city. The family wanted a single storey house to nourish the relationship between the family members. However, the structure has an open terrace that allows the family to build an additional floor, if required, in the future.
The structure has been built by leaving space for a vaster front yard. The sloped roof perfectly suits the tropical climate of the area which receives ample rainfall and sunshine. The stone cladding designs on the elevation is repeated on the compound wall too. The fabulous views of the surrounding orchard could be enjoyed from the long verandah.
The interiors are designed in the open style which makes the spaces look vaster. However, privacy has been ensured at wherever it is required. The walls in the common areas don the classy combination of white and grey hues. This makes the interiors look and feel pleasant and vaster too. Meanwhile, the minimal gypsum false ceiling and matching LED lighting adds to the stylish look of the interiors.
Designed in 3658 sqft, this mesmerizing dwelling has a car porch, spacious sit out, formal and family living areas, dining space, courtyard, and prayer area, kitchen with an adjacent work area, four bedrooms and stairway.
The custom made furniture pieces perfectly complement the general theme of the interiors. Meanwhile, vitrified tiles have been paved on the floor in the common areas. Wooden tiles too have been used for flooring in some areas.
The entrance door opens to the vast formal living area. The ‘C’ shaped couch is the highlight here. A wall on one side is decorated with attractive wall paper. The beautiful courtyard, meanwhile, has its floor paved with artificial grass and pebbles. Interestingly, the prayer area too is arranged here. The guests are often charmed by the incredible ambience of this courtyard. The full length window brings lots of natural sunshine into the house.
The specially designed dining table is chic and can comfortably accommodate up to eight guests. The stairway, meanwhile, is in the spacious dining hall. The hand railings feature the splendid combination of wood and glass. Meanwhile, the wash area is arranged just beside the courtyard.
The modern kitchen has been furnished in the classic black and white color theme. The cupboards are done in marine plywood with laminate finish.
The bedrooms are designed in unique theme and designs. Theses rooms are space efficient and boast of all the modern amenities. The bath attached bedrooms have full length wardrobes and separate dressing spaces too.
The family says that maintenance is pretty easy as the house has only one floor. Moreover, the scintillating natural settings, the cool breeze that flows in from the orchards and well lit spaces make this house a haven of comfortable living. The guests too are showering the family with congratulatory messages for building such a fabulous abode.
