What would the home of a gadget lover look like? It would most definitely resemble some of his favourite gadgets. The front exterior of this home looks like an open laptop whereas the other side, like a smart phone!
Every car that goes that goes by this way is bound to halt and stare at this house at Nanthancode, Trivandrum. Even the interiors of the 3000 sq ft home have many interesting facets to it. With a design that is largely need-based, the top floor of the house has been rented out.
From the main door, we enter directly into this living room. The indirect lighting reflects off the floor giving it a unique glow.

The second door seen in the picture was constructed according to Vaasthu principles. There is a wall made of toughened glass right next to this door. Niche spaces are also provided on this wall to exhibit curios. A special wood panelling has been done to accommodate the television.
The dining room that is a stone's throw away from the living area displays a variety of designs too. TV wall acts as a divider between these two spaces. There is also a provision to place another television in the dining area.

"The placement of the other rooms were planned in such a way, that these do not open into the main hall, like the usual pattern," says designers Praveen & Nisha.
Another highlight about this house is the wallpaper. Different wallpapers, in the range of Rs 80 to Rs 140, have been used. On one side of the room there is a common toilet & wash area and on the other corner there is a delightful little pebble court.
The kitchen follows an open plan with a purple and white theme. The wall cabinets are done up in MDF and have an automotive paint finish to it. The breakfast counter separates the kitchen from the dining area. The cabinets given on the sides of the kitchen hob have a unique style. The store room and pantry is attached to the kitchen.

The master bedroom adjoining the hall has been coloured with warm tones. The headboards made up with wooden panelling extend till the ceiling. There is a golden coloured wall paper on one side of the bedroom wall and only the bed space has been given wooden flooring. A dressing table is placed close to this. The LED lighting gives the room a different feel and look.
Designers Speak
