Severe climate fluctuations have been reported in Kerala after the floods that ravaged most parts of the state. Atmospheric temperatures have soared significantly, almost drying up the water bodies that were overflowing with the flood waters until 3 weeks ago. The number of people suffering sunburns are on the rise, with most of them seeking treatment in hospitals. Here are a few tips to avoid sunburns and maintain health during the post flood times.

Symptoms

When the atmospheric temperature rises beyond a limit, it can hinder the temperature management faculties of the human body, and finds it difficult to release the body temperature effectively. It may even jeopardize the major functioning of the organs in the human body as well.

High body temperature, blisters or reddened skin, nausea, headache, weakness and mental breakdown are some of the symptoms of sunburn when your skin is exposed to the sun for a period. The person should be immediately rushed to a hospital as the severity of the sun burn may at times even turn fatal.

Consequences

Feeling extreme fatigue or weakness is also a mild symptom of suffering sunburns. Loss of fluids from the human body may result in dehydration and rise of body temperature. Chances of shooting blood pressure are very common, especially among laborers who work outdoors in the flaming sun or in old people.

Extreme sweating, skin getting pale, muscle pulls, fatigue, dizziness, headache, nausea, low pulse rate and high breathing rate even in room temperature are some of the most common signs of health hazards caused by exposure to sun.
