Adimali: The Janamaithri police have once again set a role model for society by utilizing the bulk profit from its canteen for the economically weak. At an event held at the Admali Karshika Vikasana Bank auditorium last week, they disbursed an aid of nearly Rs.one lakh. In three years, the Janamaithri canteen has spent nearly Rs.20 lakh for the assistance of the poor.

A medical aid of Rs.25,000 was distributed some weeks ago. The canteen is providing schoolbags and umbrellas to 101 students at a cost of Rs.70,000. Also Rs.25,000 is being given to five persons as medical aid. The Adimali Janamithri Canteen was launched by one hundred police officers from Adimali under the leadership of the Adimali deputy superintendent of police in August 2014.

The members contributed Rs.14,000 each towards capital investment. Laws were also set up to so that 51% of the income would be given for charity. However, office-bearers said most of the income was now spent on charity.
