Thought for the day: Do not intervene without knowing
To maintain a healthy and amicable relationship with others, one should learn to respect and accept the diverse interests of people around.

A five-year-old boy was sitting on a wayside bench watching his friends play in the beautiful garden nearby. He kept munching on chocolate bars while enjoying the game. When he was about to unwrap another chocolate, an old man sitting beside him advised him not to eat too many chocolates. The boy said to the old man, “My grandfather lived until he was 101 years old.” Taken aback, the old man asked whether his father used to eat chocolates everyday.

The boy replied, “No, but my grandfather didn’t interfere in anyone’s matters.” It indeed is not appropriate to remain indifferent to everything. Nonetheless, unnecessarily interfering in trivial matters would only spoil your creative interventions and courteous relationships. One should engage himself or herself in the matters concerning others only in an appropriate and meaningful manner.

Only our dear ones would be allowed into our extremely private lives. It would be extremely annoying if someone, without permission, barge into our matters. The events and situations should be evaluated on the basis of the psychological and mental conditions of the people who are associated with it.

One’s own age or experience shouldn’t be the criterion to judge others. Each person would be performing a job with different intentions. It is not with the same aim that an old man and a sprinter go for the morning jogs. Even the dreams and wishes of the people who work in the same office cabins would be totally different.

While mercilessly attacking the deeds of others, one could even try considering the situations which may have prompted them to behave in a particular way. This would really help to keep a check on your impulsive reactions and interference.

To maintain a healthy and amicable relationship with others, one should learn to respect and accept the diverse interests of people around.
