In many houses, children often sleep on the sofa or other places tired after playing with their friends. Parents would then carry the kids to their beds. But, instead of doing this try to tell them stories before they sleep. “Work like washing the dishes can be postponed. Relating stories to kids should be given more importance,” instructs the video.
Moreover, it is during the night time that children feel guilty about some naughty things they did during the day. Telling stories is a good opportunity to teach the kids the right things.
Many parents promise to buy bicycles or other items for their kids if they score good marks in exams. But do we offer anything if they fail in the exams? So, making such promises is not a good tendency. People should never love their kids based on conditions.
The video also deals with the harmful effects of giving mobile phones to kids as an item to play with. Apart from damaging creativity, mobile phones have several other harmful effects too.
Many of us shower kisses on our children when they are very small, the number falls drastically when the kids grow up. Parents should ensure that such display of affection continues even when the children grow up. “When such care and affection are not available from home, the children may go in search of them at other places,” says the doctor.
Every day, parents and children have to spend some time together. This gives a chance for the kids to describe their experiences to the parents. Such an opportunity for sharing their feelings should not be denied to your kids, stresses the doctor in the the video.
