Facebook has unveiled a new feature dubbed Celebrate Pride which automatically puts a filter over your profile picture. All you have to do is go to facebook.com/celebratepride and wait for Facebook to 'rainbowify' your picture.
This follows the U S Supreme Court's ruling that same-sex marriage is legal in all the fifty states. The timing also coincides with the LGBT Pride Month.
Now, to the history of the LGBT rainbow flag. The original gay pride flag flew in the San Francisco Gay Freedom Day Parade on June 25, 1978. It had eight colours of which some were dropped later on. Watch this video to see the history of the flag.
