Kalki Koechlin was sexually abused at the age of nine

Kalki Koechlin has come out with yet another startling confession. In a recent Facebook post, she reveals “I allowed someone to have sex with me at the age of nine, not understanding fully what it meant and my biggest fear after was that my mother would find out.”

Kalki says, “I believe in being myself every step of the way and not hiding my true self from society, whether that means getting a divorce because me and my husband didn't want to pretend for other people, or wearing shorts because it's a hot day or choosing a career which is unstable but creatively satisfying, or admitting to my weaknesses because learning from them has led to my strengths.”

Kalki is of the view that parents should support their kids to do away with the stigma of sex and talking about their sexuality. She adds that she is not talking for pity but to inspire other women facing similar cirmustances to have confidence to talk about this social evil.

This is not the first time that Kalki has come out in the open about women empowerment and other social issues. Her video It's my fault had gone viral and sent a strong message.

Kalki's new project, Margarita With A Straw is all set to hit the screens soon. She plays a role of a college student who is bound to a wheelchair with cerebral palsy. In the movie she embarks on a journey of sexual discovery which hinders the relationships between her family and friends.

Not chained by our conventional society, Kalki is truly an inspiration to womankind.
