Kochi: Liana Fathima Ummer Nizar continues her victorious streak in the pool. The fifth-standard student broke two records at the CBSE National Swimming Championship at Meerut in Uttar Pradesh.
Liana won gold in the under-12 girls’ 500 metre freestyle and 500 metre butterfly stroke and silver in 100 metre freestyle before returning to Kochi.
A student of the Global Public School at Tiruvaniyur, Liana has earned about a hundred medals in the last five years. She had even become an individual champion after taking part in two national levels. Trained by Santosh Kumar of the Global Public School, Liana is preparing to take part in international events.
She is also well-versed in music and painting.
Liana is the daughter of Rahila and Ummer Nizar of Vennala in Kochi.
