entrance exam

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) re-exam today from 2 pm to 5 pm across the country. The re-examination is held based on the Supreme Court direction for those candidates who were unable to take NEET 2020 on September 13 due to the ongoing pandemic.

The results of the exam will be declared on October 16.

Students will have to wear masks and gloves. They will be allowed to take a sanitiser in a transparent bottle inside the hall.

It is estimated that at least 1.5 lakh students were unable to attend the NEET exam on account of COVID restrictions.

Many had taken to social media to voice their concerns. The apex court had also asked that the results of the first exam be withheld and only be released on October 16.

NEET 2020 was held on September 13 in various parts of India. NEET is the entrance test for medical and allied programmes in the country.

Originally scheduled for April and May this year, it was postponed in the aftermath of the coronavirus outbreak.

Around 25 lakh students registered for the JEE examination while around 16 lakh students appeared for NEET entrance exams this year.
