Kottayam: It was a fight against many odd but the universities in Kerala have news to cheer. The University of Kerala secured 29th rank in a nationwide ranking of universities undertaken by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development.
The varsity thus became first among the five state universities in the top-100 in the India Rankings-2017, under the National Institutional Ranking Framework. The report was released Monday.
The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology secured the 35th rank; the University of Calicut, 57; Mahatma Gandhi University, 67; and the Cochin University of Science and Technology, 86.

The university secured 43.95 points on the basis of five parameters, namely, teaching, learning and resource; research and professional practice; graduation outcomes; outreach and inclusivity; and perception.
