Kochi: In what could cause further embarrassment to the Pinarayi Vijayan-led LDF government in Kerala, the high court has said the state lacks the willpower and energy to take legitimate decisions.
The court made the observations while delivering the judgement in the Lovedale Homestay case in Munnar recently. The judgement could be accessed only Thursday.
“The government that came to power on the promise of setting things right, is failing on its assurances. These promises should not end up as mere expectations of the people. This is against public welfare,” the court said. “Who will set things right now?” the court asked.
“There are many court judgments that ordered eviction of illegal holdings. The government just has to ensure it is done,” the order said.
The HC's strong words against the government put the spotlight on the LDF, which is already drawing flak for removing Sriram Venkitaraman as Devikulam subcollector.
