Muvattupuzha: An Students' Federation of India (SFI) leader is facing the music for allegedly showing disrespect to the national anthem. A complaint has been filed with the police by Kerala Students Union (KSU) leaders against former unit secretary of the SFI at Nirmala College, Muvattupuzha, Aslam Saleem in this regard.
According to the complaint, Aslam ridiculed the anthem while it was being sung during the end of the day's classes. Aslam is a third year Communicative English student at Nirmala College.
The complainant, KSU leader Ramshad Rafeeq, has attached video images of the incident to his petition before the police. He said a strong stir would be launched if the police fail to take action.
Meanwhile, college authorities have issued a suspension order to Aslam.
