School students come to the aid of flood-hit Kuttanad folks

Thodupuzha: Contributing their mite to help the flood victims of Kuttanad, school students have decided to supply drinking water to the people there. Kuttanad has been reeling under drinking water scarcity after the flooding.

The initiative launched by students of Thodupuzha Jayarani public school under the ‘Nalla padom’ programme will be implemented with the support of teachers and parents.

The aim of the students is to collect an amount of Rs one lakh and supply 10,000 litres of drinking water. Instructions were given to all students of the school to either bring a bottle of water or contribute the cost.

Meanwhile, the rice, drinking water, clothes, soap, lotion, detergents and sanitary items collected by students, teachers and parents of Thodupuzha De Paul English medium school and De Paul public school were distributed among the suffering people of Kuttanad.
