Pathanamthitta: The Kerala Police has registered a case against activist Rehanana Fathima over a social media post made by her which allegedly hurt religious sentiments. The case was registered on a complaint filed by R Radhakrishna Menon, a Thrikkodithanam native, to the Pathanamthitta district police chief.

Ernakulam native Rehana Fathima was in the news for her attempt to visit the Lord Ayyappa Temple at Sabarimala. Rehana, also a model and actress, had reached the Nadapanthal in front of the temple on Friday but had to return following protests.

Rehana, who started the trek up the hill to the Sabarimala temple on Friday morning, was blocked by devotees near Nadapanthal.

When Rehana’s climb at Sabarimala became public knowledge, two persons wearing helmets trespassed into her house at BSNL quarters at Panampilly Nagar, Ernakulam, and caused widespread damage.

A similar case was registered against another woman devotee Liby earlier after she made a failed bid to visit the temple on September 17 before returning following protests.
