Situation in Sabarimala has normalised, notes HC
Kerala HC

Kochi: The Kerala High Court has observed that there are no problems in Sabarimala now. “The situation there has changed,” the court said in an oral opinion while hearing a petition from three persons who alleged they were blocked at the pilgrim centre because they were BJP supporters.

The petition was settled after the government assured the court that there is no objection for anyone to visit Sabarimala.

The petitioners, Vibin of Kodakara and two others, said they were part of a group of 35 who went to Sabarimala on November 29, and alleged they were blocked at Pampa.

The government conveyed to the court that the three were part of a group sent by a particular political party (to foment trouble in Sabarimala). They were charged earlier for protests against the Supreme Court verdict and refused to cooperate.

“That forced the police to block them,” the government asserted.

The petitioners however said they are regular pilgrims to Sabarimala. They alleged that the police were seeking out BJP-RSS workers in Sabarimala, and argued that blocking them was a denial of the right to worship.
