Kochi: Rail traffic along the Kottayam route will be hit from March 25 to 31.

Traffic regulations along the Kottayam route will be in place over the signalling work ahead of the commissioning of the double track on the Kuruppanthara-Ettumanoor section that will be thrown open on March 31. Several trains will be cancelled and re-routed during the next seven days.

Kanyakumari-Mumbai CST Jayanti Express and Hyderabad-Thiruvananthapuram Sabari Express will be diverted through Alappuzha route from March 27 to 31. Korba-Thiruvananthapuram Express will be re-routed via Alappuzha on March 25 and 29.

Nagercoil-Mangalore Parasuram Express, Thiruvananthapuram-Hyderabad Sabari Express, Kochuveli-Lokmanya Tilak Gareeb Rath Express, Thiruvananthapuram-New Delhi and New Delhi-Thiruvananthapuram Kerala Express will also run through Alappuzha on March 31. These trains will stop at Ernakulam Junction, Cherthala, Alappuzha and Ambalappuzha.

Thiruvananthapuram-New Delhi Kerala Express will halt at Kottayam station for an hour from March 25 to 30. Mangalore-Nagercoil Parasuram Express will stop for 50 minutes from March 25 to 31 and Hyderabad-Thiruvananthapuram Sabari Express will halt for 1 hour on March 25 and 26 at Kuruppanthara.

Shoranur-Thiruvananthapuram Venad Express and Mangalore-Nagercoil Parasuram Express will not stop at Ettumanoor from March 31 to May 1 (32 days) owing to work related to underpass construction and Ettumanoor yard remodelling.
