Landslide rattles Wayanad, 40 feared trapped under debris, 3 rescued

Around 40 people were suspected to be trapped under the debris of a huge landslide that rattled the hilly district of Wayanad on Thursday evening. As many as three persons have been rescued from the spot. The incident occurred at Meppadi Puthumala. The hill fell on a temple, mosque and staff quarters of the plantation workers. Eyewitnesses told Manorama News TV that a lot of people were inside both places of worship at the time of the incident. "The earth caved in all on a sudden," they said.
