Alappuzha: Nadubhagom chundan (snake boat) of the Pallathuruthi Boat Club won the 67th Nehru Trophy Boat Race (NTBR) at the Punnamada Lake here on Saturday. The chundans that entered the finals were Karichal, Champakulam, Devas, and Nadubhagom. Champakulam came second and Karichal finished third.

Earlier, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the Champions Boat League. The NTBR was inaugurated by Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran. Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar was the chief guest of the event.
