Kuruppumpady (Perumbavoor): Two persons have been arrested for hacking a youth to death near his house here on Wednesday night.

Ansil (28), son of Saju and residing near the Parambipeedika toddy shop at Keezhillam, had received a phone call around 9.30 pm following which he went out of his house. Ansil was attacked at the Canal Bund Road near his house by two persons.

The youth, who was hacked on the neck, was rushed to a private hospital in Perumbavoor by his father and brother but succumbed to his injuries.

Officers from the Kuruppumpady police station soon arrested Biju and Elwin, both belonging to Perumbavoor, in connection with the incident. The police said that these persons had apparently contacted Ansil over phone, following which he had met them outside the house.

"However, the motive for the murder is yet to be ascertained," said an officer.

A police team is presently camping at the scene of the murder. Ansil was engaged in real-estate business.
