No move to cancel KSRTC trips: Kerala Transport Minister Antony Raju

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Transport Minister Antony Raju has denied as baseless the strong social media campaign that a move is afoot to cancel KSRTC bus services due to the present tough COVID situation.

There is no crisis in the KSRTC owing to the present COVID crisis and the campaigns contrary to it are the handiwork of a section of the employees, the minister said.

He said the KSRTC chairman and managing director has requested the Health Department to hold a special drive to give booster doses to the KSRTC conductors.

The Health Department has expressed inability to conduct vaccination camps at KSRTC depots in view of the ongoing vaccination camps in schools. So, the booster dose drive for KSRTC employees will be held in hospitals, Antony Raju said.

Meanwhile, the KSRTC CMD came down heavily on those who campaign that the KSTC is running only 700 services, while adding that strict action would be taken against them.

He further said that a section of the employees were behind such a campaign and their aim was to secure holidays by halting bus services.
