Malappuram: An Air India Express flight bound for Doha made an emergency return to Kozhikode International Airport on Wednesday following a technical issue. The flight IX 375, which took off at 9.07 am with 188 people onboard, including 175 passengers, seven children, and crew, returned at 11.12 am after a cabin air-conditioning malfunction was detected.
Although the return was not officially classified as an emergency, the aircraft was brought back as a safety measure. All passengers are safe, and no additional issues were reported. A replacement flight was arranged and departed for Doha at 2.16 pm. Meanwhile, passengers were provided with food, water, and essential facilities at the airport during the wait.
