Nude scene to stay: controversial Malayalam film Kathakali gets 'A' certificate

Thiruvananthapuram: The Malayalam film Kathakali, which was mired in controversy following objection from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), has been granted permission for screening. The regional office of the CBFC here has granted an 'A' certificate for the the film.

The film, based on a Kathakali artiste, directed by Sijo Kannanaikkal was earlier denied certificate on grounds of nudity.

Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) members, film personalities and other activists had staged protests against the curb on permission for the film's screening.
