Thalayolapparambu: Ikkarakunnel Thomas of Uzhavoor, father of Sister Abhaya, who was found dead in a well more than a couple of decades ago, passed away here at a private hospital on Sunday. He was 72. Thomas was undergoing treatment for brain stroke.
Beena aka Sister Abhaya, daughter of Thomas and Leelamma, was found dead in a well of Pius X convent hostel in Kottayam on March 27, 1992. The mystery behind the sister's death had been baffling the police and investigating agencies over the years.
Thomas had been engaged in legal battle for the past 24 years to unravel the mystery surrounding the death of sister Abhaya.
The funeral will be held at St. Roch's church in Areekkara on Tuesday.
