Palakkad: The Kerala police Tuesday arrested a man for allegedly killing a housewife at Chithali in Kuzhalmannam here.

According to police sources, the accused, identified as Chenthamara, is a relative of the 30-year-old woman, who went missing July 14.

As per the details provided by Chenthamara, the police have recovered the woman's body, which was found stuffed in a sack near Anamalai police station in Pollachi in nearby state Tamil Nadu.

According to the source, Chenthamara told the police that he tried to molest the woman after her daughter left for school. Chenthamara tried to grab the woman and she fought back.

She fell on the floor banging her head while resisting the molestation attempt.

Angered, Chenthamara strangled the woman to death and stuffed her body into a sack and left it at Anamalai. The suspect also stole money and jewelry from the house.

The murdered woman had raised complaints about Chenthamara before too, but that did not help her avert a sad end.
