Congress in Kerala puts up a young face as party announces new DCC chiefs

New Delhi: Sending out a strong signal that the Congress party in Kerala is all set to address the contemporary political challenges, the party high command Thursday announced the new presidents of District Congress Committees giving more prominence to the second rung leaders.

No incumbent DCC president has been retained in the post while young leaders like T.N. Prathapan and M.Liju have been given charges of their home districts.

As the high command had earlier announced, women's representation has been ensured in the new list of functionaries with Mahila Congress leader Bindu Krishna being given the charge of Kollam district. Mahila Congress had demanded at least two districts earlier.

T.N. Prathapan will head the Thrissur DCC while Satheesan Pacheni is given the charge of Kannur.
