Thiruvananthapuram: Former Kerala state police chief T.P. Senkumar has alleged that his tough stance in murder cases involving a few CPM leaders led to his removal as DGP.
Senkumar said it in an affidavit submitted to the Supreme Court challenging the CPM-led LDF government's decision to transfer him from the post of police chief.
He said the CPM was acting with grudge against him as he had conducted honest probe into the murders of RMP leader T.P. Chandrasekharan, Muslim League activist Ariyil Shukkoor and RSS leader Kathiroor Manoj. In all these cases, the involvement of CPM leaders was alleged.
Senkumar said the CPM ruined his career as he probed party's Kannur district secretary P. Jayarajan's role in the Manoj murder case.
Citing the increase in the number of political murders of late, Senkumar said the law order situation in the state has crumbled after he was removed as the DGP.

Senkumar, who belongs to the 1983 IPS batch, was replaced by Loknath Behera, a 1985 batch officer, soon after the LDF government came to power.
Senkumar was transferred to the post of chairman and managing director, Kerala Police Housing and Construction Corporation, on state deputation basis.
Senkumar had earlier moved the Kerala high court questioning the government's decision, alleging violation of guidelines issued by the apex court. However, the court turned down his plea.
The government had argued that Senkumar was removed due to his failure to handle the Puttingal temple fireworks tragedy case and Jisha murder case.
