Thiruvananthapuram: Ending the wait for lakhs of students, the results of SSLC examinations in Kerala were announced here on Wednesday.
The state continued with its trend of high rate of pass percentage with 96.59 per cent of students appearing for the exams being elected as eligible for higher education. This is two per cent less than the previous year's results which stood at 98.57. There was no moderation allowed this year.
As many as 1,207 schools registered 100 per cent pass, while 22,879 students scored A Plus grade in all subjects.
Of the total of 4,73,803 students who appeared for the examination, 4,57,654 cleared with various grades.

Pathanamthitta the topper
Pathanamthitta district scored highest pass percentage (99.04) while Wayanad (92.3) became the district with lowest pass percentage.

The education district which registered highest pass percentage is Muvattupuzha (99.44). Wayanad (91.3) is the education district which registered least pass percentage.
Save a Year (SAY) examinations will be held from May 23 to May 27.
Notably, unlike last year, there was no confusion regarding the announcements of results this time.
Usually, the education minister annouces the result. With the model code of conduct of in place in the state for the upcoming assembly elections, the chief secretary was entrusted with the job.

Six ways to check result
The IT@School has set in place several measures to help the students and parents get the results soon after the announcement.
We are listing six of them here.
The results are available at itschool.gov.in.
For smartphone users, mobile app 'Saphalam 2016', available for download on Google Play Store, come in handy to find out their result.
One can also register their mobile number on the website itschool.gov.in and they will be getting the result on their phone. The SMS gateway will send results to five lakh phone numbers in three minutes.
In addition to this, people can get the result by sending an SMS to 9645221221 in the following format: its/space/register number.
IT@School is also arranging interactive voice response (IVR)-based mechanism to get the result. Students can dial 0484-6636966 from any number and press their register number as per instructions to know their results as voice message.
A special call centre facility will also be available on the result day. You can call 0471-2529898 and 30 lines are in place to help the caller get their results.

Over 4.76 lakh students had appeared for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations held in March at various centres in Kerala, the Gulf and Lakshadweep islands.
According to director of public instruction M.S. Jaya, 4,76,373 students, 2,33,034 of them girls, appeared for this year's exams in 2903 centres.
