The Kerala High Court on Tuesday ordered that the police can continue its investigation into the murder conspiracy case in which actor Dileep is an accused.

In a huge setback to the actor, the high court rejected his plea that the FIR registered against him in the case be either quashed or handed over to the CBI.

The case is that Dileep and his accomplices had conspired to eliminate the police officers who investigated the 2017 actress assault case and arrested the actor. The case was registered on the basis of the allegations made by Dileep's former friend and director Balachandra Kumar.

The Kerala police team probing the murder of Popular Front of India leader A Subair on Tuesday recorded the arrest of three persons who were taken into custody on Monday.

The arrested are Arumughan, Saravanan and Ramesh, all RSS workers. ADGP Vijay Sakhare, who is coordinating the investigation, said Ramesh was the main conspirator behind the crime. He said Subair was killed to avenge the murder of Sanjith, another RSS worker. Manoj was a good friend of Sanjith. The accused had attempted to kill Subair earlier also, but then they had to abort the plan as a police vehicle came their way unexpectedly, the officer said.

The ADGP said Sanjith had told Manoj that Subair would be responsible if something happened to him.

The police think that only the three arrested people were directly involved in the murder. However, the probe into the conspiracy will continue.

The bride at the centre of an interfaith marriage row has told the Kerala High Court that she left with her Muslim lover on her own accord. She refuted the claims of her parents that she was forced to marry the man from another religious community.

Joisna Mary Joseph, whose marriage with a Muslim man has triggered a controversy in Kerala, appeared before the court on Tuesday morning.

The girl's fundamental rights cannot be denied, the court observed, after Joisna expressed her intent to go with Shejin.

She also told the court that she was not held in captivity.

Last week the court had ordered that Joisna be presented before it as it considered a habeas corpus writ filed by her father Joseph who claimed that his daughter was taken away against her will. He also sought a probe into the matter by an agency from outside the state.

The Central Bureau of Investigation has issued yellow notices through Interpol in 191 countries to trace Keralite college girl Jesna Maria James who went missing from Vechoochira in Pathanamthitta district four years ago.

A Yellow Notice is a global police alert for a missing person.

The Yellow Notice has been issued since there is no information yet on the whereabouts of Jesna who went missing on March 22, 2018. The details on the case as well as Jesna's photo and identification marks have been handed over to Interpol in different countries.

Kerala is yet to implement the ‘Bharat’ or BH series of vehicle registration even seven months after the orders in this regard were issued by the Government of India. Now, the Kerala High Court has directed the state government to allow ‘BH’ series after some Government of India employees and staff of Central public sector undertakings approached it.

However, Kerala’s Motor Vehicles Department has decided to appeal against the High Court directive. According to MVD officials, Kerala would suffer a loss of Rs 300 crore in vehicle taxes if the ‘BH’ series is implemented in the state.
