Lets get into the details.
1. The 52nd Kerala State Film Awards was announced today by minister Saji Cheriyan and
it was packed with a few surprises and some much-expected results.
Actress Revathi, who made a comeback to Malayalam after a few years through the
Shane Nigam-starrer 'Bhoothakalam,' was termed the Best Actor (Female).
Biju Menon, who played an aging father in the film 'Aarkkariyam,' shared the Best Actor (Male) award with
Joju George, who won the title for his performances in 'Nayattu,' 'Madhuram,' 'Thuramukham'and 'Freedom Fight.' “Biju Menon's role was so nuanced as a father, said jury chairman
Saeed Akhtar Mirsa, who also added that Joju displayed a mosaic of emotions and wonderful range through his performances in
various films.
2. Senior politician P C George, who was arrested and sent to judicial remand on Thursday over a hate speech case,
was granted bail with strict conditions by the Kerala High Court on Friday.
The court considered George's two bail pleas - one seeking anticipatory bail in a
hate speech case registered at Palarivattom police station in Kochi and the other appealing
against the cancellation of his bail in another similar case lodged against him in Thiruvananthapuram.
The high court granted the bails considering his health condition and status as former MLA.
The court has directed the former Poonjar MLA to cooperate with the probe teams in the ongoing investigations against him.
3. The Narcotics Control Bureau on Friday gave a clean chit to Aryan Khan, son of
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, over the drugs-on-cruise case in which he was arrested late last year.
Officials of the NCB, which filed its chargesheet in a Mumbai court, said Aryan Khan and
five others had not been named due to "lack of sufficient evidence".
Asserting that its special investigation team (SIT) carried out its probe in an "objective manner",
the federal anti-drugs agency said in a statement in Delhi that "the touchstone of the principle of proof beyond reasonable doubt has been applied".
Based on the investigation carried out by the SIT, a complaint against 14 persons under various sections of the NDPS Act is being filed (before a Mumbai court).
Chargesheet against the remaining 6 persons is not being filed due to lack of sufficient evidence, it said.

4. A native of Palakkad, who is reportedly a former Congress backer, has been
arrested for circulating a sleaze video in the name of the LDF candidate for the Thrikkakara by-election, Dr Jo Joseph.
The accused is Kozhinjampara-native Sivadasan, who is allegedly a former local office-bearer of the Youth Congress and an employee of the KTDC.
The Kochi City Police launched a probe after the candidate and his wife Dr Daya Pascal
came forward against the 'fake video' purportedly featuring Dr Jo Joseph.

5. Gold smuggling through airports is going on despite heightened vigil, and links of
rackets with flight crew and Customs personnel have come to light in several cases. A flight attendant who was arrested the
other day at the Calicut International Airport for gold smuggling told his interrogators that he has done so six times earlier.
The Customs had nabbed Air India Express cabin crew Navneet Sigh with 1.25kg gold on Wednesday.
Gold, worth Rs 4.5 crore, was being smuggled by concealing it in the shoes, as per the Customs statement.
That brings us to the end of this episode.
