India take on New Zealand in the first semifinal of the ICC World Cup at Old Trafford in Manchester on Tuesday. This is the first time the two sides are meeting in a knockout phase of the quadrennial showpiece. However, Indian captain Virat Kohli and his Kiwi counterpart Kane Williamson will renew an old rivalry when the two walk out to toss on Tuesday.

Kohli-led Indian colts had beaten New Zealand helmed by Williamson in the semifinal of the 2008 ICC Under-19 World Cup at Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

Kohli had won the man-of-the-match award for his knock of 43 and 2/27 as India won by three wickets via Duckworth/Lewis method. Kohli even scalped Williamson in the rain-hit game.

Ravindra Jadeja was Kohli's deputy, while the New Zealand team featured current New Zealand medium-pacers Trent Boult and Tim Southee.

As the teams eye a place in the final both Kohli and Williamson will have important roles too play. Indian fans would be hoping for an encore as the Indian colts went on to lift the trophy in 2008.
