Sanju Samson scored another masterful fifty to steer the Kochi Blue Tigers to a three-wicket win against Alleppey Ripples in the Kerala Cricket League (KCL-2) at the Greenfield Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday.

Sanju scored 83 off 41, smashing nine sixes and two boundaries at a strike rate of 202. His dismissal disrupted the Blue Tigers' chase of 177 as they went from 135/4 to 152/7 in two overs. An unbeaten 13-ball 25 from Jerin P S ensured victory for Saly Samson-led Blue Tigers with 10 balls to spare.

Earlier, openers Jalaj Saxena (71) and Mohammed Azharuddeen (64) fired the Ripples to 94/1 in 10.3 overs. But the Blue Tigers bounced back with K M Asif taking 3/33 and Jerin bagging two wickets to restrict the opposition to 176/6.

Sanju has scored three fifties (62 off 37 and 89 off 46) and a century (121 off 51) in his maiden KCL campaign. He is unlikely to feature throughout the event due to the Asia Cup.

The Blue Tigers remain top of the points table (12 points) with six wins from eight matches, followed by defending champions Kollam Sailors (8) and Calicut Globstars (8).
